Baja California – Mobulas & Sharks

This freediving travel experience in Baja California is a wildlife-focused expedition designed for freedivers seeking close encounters with mobula rays and sharks in the Sea of Cortez.

Unlike other Baja trips centered on general exploration, this journey specifically targets seasonal wildlife aggregations. The Sea of Cortez offers exceptional opportunities to observe schools of mobula rays, as well as various shark species, in open water environments known for their biodiversity.

The expedition is organized around daily boat outings, adapting each day to weather conditions and wildlife presence. Freedivers are guided in respectful interactions, with a strong emphasis on safety, positioning and awareness when diving with large marine animals.

This Baja California freediving expedition is about patience, presence and connection with marine life — offering powerful encounters in one of the world’s most vibrant oceans.

Extra infos :

• Pre requisite: be 18 years old of age or older and being a certified freediver (Aida 2 or similar minimum).
• Max group size: 6 people.
• The meeting point will be in Cabo San Lucas , BCS, where there is an international airport.
• It will be an international group. Main language will be english. We also speak spanish and french.
• The schedule may change depending on weather and local legislation.
• There is no guarantee to see wildlife.
• Respect for nature is mandatory at all time.
• We recommend to bring eco-friendly sun screen and anti-mosquitos product.
• On the boat we will provide snacks and water, and on some occasions we will have lunch on the boat.
• We recommend to purchase DAN insurance for your trip and for anytime you go freediving.
• Bring your personal freediving equipment.
• We recommend a 3mm wetsuit with hoody.
• Plugs are 110 volt – Europeans will need an adaptor.
• Some places can be quite remote, make sure you bring what you need.
